Words Words Words

If I had the choice to have everyone in the world read a single book, I would make everyone read the largest modern English Thesaurus on the market. I believe that this mandatory reading would open up a plethora of new options for people to use in both conversation and in writing. By having everyone read such a resource, the world would flourish with new vocabulary, and everyone would have a specific or new word for every situation. These words would help to liven up conversations tenfold and create far more vivid images through the use of obscure, specific, and descriptive words. The benefits of reading the Thesaurus would extend far beyond conversation, however, as literature and written works would prosper due to all of the new complex words that would come under use more frequently. School related writings and literature in general would reap the most benefits, as writers abroad would have a higher level of comprehension, along with an increased skill in writing. Even though it would be a tedious task, the perks that would come fromreading a Thesaurus would far outweigh the dullness of such a task.
